Kundapur, Apr 3: Block Congress president Kanmakki Hariprasad urged the government to reduce the price of petrol and diesel prices which has increased 10 times in past 12 days after the completion of counting of votes in five states.

Hariprasad said, “As the price of commercial cooking gas cylinder is increased by Rs 250 hotel and commercial establishment owners have suffered a jolt. The effect of this will fall directly on the customers and prices of eatables and other products will rise considerably.

“Due to the increase in diesel price, the prices of all commodities will shoot up. This will further burden the commoner, who is already facing the brunt of inflation. When UPA government was in power, BJP leaders protested when the price of fuel increased by 10 to 20 paise and gas cylinder rate by Rs 5 per cylinder. Now whey they are silent?

“The BJP government, which should stand by the people, who are distraught due to coronavirus pandemic lockdown, is trying to divert attention of public by using various right wing organizations to spew poison between various religions and castes. The BJP government that is supported by the public in the past seven years, should immediately reduce the price of fuel and show that it is pro-people.”
