Bengaluru: ADGP Bhaskar Rao bids adieu to police force, likely to join AAP

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (DRD)

Bengaluru, Apr 3: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP)  and former police commissioner Bhaskar Rao's foray into politics seems almost certain with the  state government accepting his resignation recently. The former cop had applied for voluntary retirement citing personal reasons with IAS officer and Karnataka chief secretary P Ravi Kumar last September.

Bhaskar Rao has confirmed the same via a tweet which reads , "Last trip home after curtains down of 32 years in IPS. I have extreme gratitude to my family, the people of Karnataka and all my colleagues, friends, elders & young people in my life and finally the Governments of Karnataka across parties, heading into choppy seas."

Bhjaskar Rao was a popular police commissioner in Bengaluru from 2019 to 2020.  An IPS officer from the 1990 batch, he was serving as the ADGP for Railways prior to his resignation. He  has also been the ADGP of Karnataka State Reserve Police and that of the Internal security Division. Rao is a recipient of the "Police medal for meritorious service" conferred on him in 2008.

Meanwhile rumours are agog  that Bhaskar Rao may contest from the Bangalore South region in the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections. Some sections of the media had also reported that Bhaskar Rao was allegedly disgruntled with the current state government and was contemplating trying his hands at politics with the Aam Aadmi Party.

self respected people cannot serve in police or as bureaucrats as the politicians just make them dance to their tunes....99.9 percent of police and bureaucrats turn to corruption only because of politicians as they are also doing the same...in total as churchill said indians cannot govern themselves has proven true beyond any doubt in the past 75 years of independence..

it is clear signs that honest people are not happy with corruption and hate and double standard attitude , AAP is clean party never bother about religion rather concentrating on development, delhi and Punjab are example, during their administration they didn't wasted time on useless issues . Welcome sir, AAP needs educated and literate non corrupt people to lead. Karnataka people have disguised with BJP, JD's And Congress. Fed up with jumping from one party to another after wining the election for ministers post.
