Udupi, Apr 4: The convocation ceremony of the Kindergarten Section of Trinity Central School, Perampalli was held with much fanfare at the school Trinitorium on April 1. Dressed in a grand hues of an eclectic blue with the golden sunshine elevating their glow, the young minds of UKG proudly walked to their seats of honour to the music intonation of the drum.
Led by Leslia Soares, the graduating class were accompanied by chief guest Fr Johnson Sequeira, principal of St Mary’s English Medium School Udupi, principal Fr Anil D’Costa, Primary Section in charge Fr Lenson Lobo, Magdalena Lewis, academic coordinator and Renita Monteiro, pre-primary section head.

Compere Steffi Saldanha consented the formal introduction to the august gathering, after which the young voices of LKG led all in prayer through the hymn ‘Bind us together’. With radiating smiles, the young tots of LKG performed the welcome dance. Renita Monteiro welcomed the audience.
In his address to the graduating students, Fr Johnson conveyed that this batch of students are an extremely special batch, who were part of an educational system that involved online as well as offline education. He appreciated the children for efforts and also commended the teachers for their exceptional efforts. Fr Johnson also advised the parents that our perspective towards on the growth and development of the children needs to change, we need to make them more responsible and independent in preparing them for their future'.
With words of gratitude, Leona, Evangeline and Dylan of UKG shared their thoughts and experiences of their kindergarten years. The honorary graduates were then administered the oath by Rashmi Prabhu, before being awarded their graduation certificates. In eloquent words, Rashmi shared her wonderful experience as a teacher.
Principal Fr Anil D’Costa thanked the august gathering for their wonderful presence. He conveyed that despite the many difficulties that Covid had posed, it was because of the enthusiasm of the students, support of the parents and the devoted effort of the teachers which was instrumental in the success of the short yet effective academic year.
With the melody of ‘One more step along the way, I go’, the students of UKG took their first step into the new direction of their lives. Talia Fernandes rendered the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.
