Bantwal, Apr 4: “The Kambala that will be held at Navoor in the taluk soon is popularly known as Bantwal Kambala,” said former minister B Ramanath Rai.

“The preparations for the event are progressing as planned. The day for the Kambala will be decided soon,” he said in a press conference held at Kambalagadde, Navoor on Monday, April 4.

“This Kambala is unique. The lake work is completed in the least period for the first time for  Kambla. The news has already caused excitement among the fans of Kambala.”

“The time has come to restart Kambala at Koodibail after 18 years. The fields belong to Hindus, Muslims and Christians. The Kambala will be a symbol of harmony,” he said. The works on the lake are in brisk progress for the past 12 days.

Kambala committee president Pius L Rodrigues, Melwin Dias, Padmashekar Jain, gram panchayat president Umesh Kumar, Mailappa Salian, Suresh Jora, Vijayakumar Allipade and Avil Menezes were present.
