Udupi: Scuffle ensues between BJP workers, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake

Udupi, Apr 5: Former minister of Kaup Vinay Kumar Sorake was reportedly manhandled by BJP workers in the campus of Shirva gram panchayat office and his shirt was torn off in the chaos.

Congress members were holding a protest against the vacating of house of a person belonging to Schedule Caste (SC) community. During the protest, there were heated arguments between Sorake and gram panchayat PDO which resulted in fist fights. In the process the shirt of former minister Sorake was torn.



The BJP workers also rushed to the spot of protest by Congress workers. This further heightened the tensions. Both workers had a verbal duel. The Congress accused that BJP has instigated the PDO to vacate the house of SC person.

The BJP workers also had direct tussle with former minister Sorake. Congress workers were cursing the PDO. High drama is in progress in front of the gram panchayat office at Shirva.

Sorake urged to give title deed to financially poor people. Congress workers are raising slogans against the PDO who got the house demolished.
