Mangaluru: ‘Ensure sufficient drinking water supply’: DC Dr Rajendra to tahsildars

Mangaluru, Apr 8: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra instructed all tahsildars to conduct periodical meetings of task forces that exist in all taluks so that water scarcity does not arise in summer.

The meeting of district disaster management authority was held on Thursday April 7at the premises of DC’s office. DC Dr Rajendra presided over the meeting and said, “So far we have not come across shortage of feed to cattle and water. Care should be taken to prevent any scarcity in future also.

“When accidents take place in hospitals, emergency response should be very quick. Mock drills needs to be held in order to get ready for real situations. The concerned people should take care to prevent any accidents while working at heights on under construction buildings. Factories should take preventive actions to prevent any kind of chemical leakage and also hold mock drill to assess the readiness,” he said.

Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner Akshy Sridhar, superintendent of police Hrishikesh Sonavane, additional DC Dr Krishnamoorthy and other officials were present.

    In our area in rainy season we are not getting drinking water supply from MCC. For the same if we visit DC , MCC office , MP, MLA and corporator they just busy in blame game . Only in media and paper Ensure sufficient drinking water supply all .

    Hmmm..yes...good advice sir......please see into that it gets implemented. Many of the wards get water everyday and few once in two days for few hours in MANGALURU under JALASIRI YOJANE...

    One putting the responsibility on his subordinates. Out come is water tanks trucks in all areas. Good percentage for water tankers. By paying money to tankers no water problems.
