Bengaluru, Apr 8: In a shocking matter that has come to light, a clerk working with district SP office at Vasanthnagar in the city, did not get his two-wheeler registered and used it for 14 long years with a fake number plate.

The accused has been identified as Krishna Jois, a resident of Bengaluru South. He was using a bike with a fake number plate since 2008.

The matter came to light by the police when the bike driven by Krishna Jois was involved in an accident that occurred at Banashankari's second stage here on January 25. In the said accident Noor Jahan had died. She was riding a pillion with her relative Saeed Salim Pasha on his bike.

During investigation, it came to light that an unknown bike rider had hit Saeed’s bike from behind due to which Noor Jahan fell on the road and died. The unknown bike rider had escaped from the spot.

Pasha told the cops that he had taken the bike of his friend Krishna Jois on the day of the accident. When the traffic police checked the number plate, the same number was registered on another Bajaj Boxer bike. Police immediately took out a summons on Krishna Jois and called him to the police station where the matter came to light.

Krishna Jois confessed with the police that he had purchased his new bike from a showroom in 2008 and did not get it registered and was running it on a fake number plate.

Police have registered a case against Krishna Jois and further investigation is on.
