Udupi, Apr 9: Lacs of devotees thronged to Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi temple to take part in the Brahmakumbabhisheka of the temple on Saturday April 9. The rituals began at 6 am followed by Brahmakumbabhisheka of Goddess Mahalakshmi.
A large number of devotees attended the religious ceremony. Vidhwan Kukkikatte Sri Raghavendra Tantri, tantri of the Uchilla temple conducted the religious ceremonies in a ceremonial way. He was assisted by senior priest Venkatanarasimha Upadhyaya, Raghavendra Upadhyaya, Vastu expert Vidhwan Subramanya Bhat Gundibailu and other priests.
Goddess Mahalakshmi was also decorated with fish shaped golden chain donated by Mangaluru south Wharf fishermen co operative and other golden items donated by the devotees.
Kalashabhisheka for Ganapathi and Bhadrakali was also held on the occasion. Maha Pooje and Palla pooje rituals were witnessed by devotees on the occasion.
The Punar Pratiste, Brahmakalashotsava, Rathtotsava and Nagamandalotsava rituals began from April 1 and will conclude on April 15. During this 15 days, lacs of devotees are expected to visit the temple. Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi temple is very famous temple belonging to Mogaveer community. The temple was rebuilt at a total cost of Rs 36 crore.
Nadoja Dr G Shankar, president, Brahmakalasha committee and honorary president renovation committee; Jaya C Kotian, president, Dakshina Kannada Mogaveer Mahajana Sangh Uchila; Gundu Amin, president renovation committee; Vasudeva Salyan, president, Dakshina Kannada Mogaveer Mahajan Sangh Mumbai; Appi S Salyan, president, Dakshina Kannada Mahila Mahajan Sangh, Lalaji R Mendon, MLA Kaup; Pramod Madhwaraj and U R Sabhpathi, former MLAs, community leaders Yashpal Suvarna, Anand C Kunder, Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, Hariyappa Kotian, NT Amin Malpe and others were present.
Well maintained arrangements
The temple renovation committee headed by honorary president Nadoja Dr G Shankar and president Gundu B Amin, Dakshina Kannada Mogaveer Mahajan Sangha headed by Jaya C Kotian Bellampalli, Dakshina Kannada Mogaveer Mahajan Sangh Mumbai headed by Vasudeva Salyan and other Mogaveer associations have worked day and night for organizing such a grand event. The well-trained volunteers helped the devotees and ensured all the devotees received Darshan of Goddess Mahalakshmi.
The systematic arrangements helped the devotees to take part in the rituals. Placard and sign boards were also placed in every nook and corner of the venue. Prasadam and Theertha counters were also setup.
Annasantarpane
All the devotees who visited the temple were served with tasty vegetarian meal. Buffet as well as leaf meal was also served. Separate counters for rice, sambar, payasam, and sweet was arranged for the devotees. Lacs of devotees received the Anna Prasada.
