BJP, Sangh Parivar Involved in Church Attacks: Justice Saldanha Report

BJP, Sangh Parivar Involved in Church Attacks: Justice Saldanha Report

Bangalore, Feb 3 (NDTV): The police, the state government, the BJP and the Sangh Parivar were absolved of all blame by a recent report on the attacks on churches in 2008 in Karnataka.

But another report, by a former judge of the Karnataka High Court, concludes the opposite.

Justice MF Saldanha conducted an independent inquiry and says the state police was involved in the attacks, and that the then Bajrang Dal state leader, Mahendra Kumar, says he was asked to carry out the attacks by government representatives. Justice Saldanha quoted an interview given by Mahendra Kumar to a newspaper.

Justice Saldanha says he visited 200 different places during his inquiry, and that he will submit his report to the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and the Prime Minister later this month.

Last week, a report by Justice BK Somasekhara declared, "There is no basis to the apprehension of Christian petitioners that the politicians, BJP, mainstream Sangh Parivar and state government directly or indirectly, are involved in the attacks."

Mr Somasekhara, also a former judge, was assigned to investigate the attacks by the newly-elected BJP government which was confronting its first major crisis when churches in eight districts were vandalized.

Justice Saldanha says that any commission or inquiry set up by the government to investigate its own actions in unlikely to be impartial.

I loot your house and I appoint one man enquiry commission who also is a looter & pay you salary to find out who did it. Obiviously, the commision will obey what master orders. Yeddy is now scared for his life because his soul pricks him of his guilt. He will have a long life to pay for his evil deeds. He can fool innocent minority, but, how can he fool his own soul and our God almighty ?

Well done, Mr. Saldhana, Govt planning attack on Christian Churches, later ordering their own enquiry commission to give a clean chit. This is what happens in Karnataka. This was a plan was under operation Kamala to please Hindu voters in Karavaly, whole world knows about it but our politicians have closed their eyes for Christians. This govt should go, it will go in 2months.

Poor Justice Saldanha! He has forgotten that when a perpetrator of attack appoints a commission, the aim is to legitimise the crime, and not call spate a spate! Som has done his job well! Worth the public money spent by Yeddy!
All those craving for justice, peace, harmony must learn a lesson from this! Never to trust politicians! We choose our tormentors!
My Only regret: image of the highest judiciary is tarnished by Yeddy commission! Unfortunate!

You are absolutely correct Mr.Shyam Oberoi, Christians simply didn't follow the Holy Bible during the church attacks which also states - if someone gives something to you return him the same in two folds. Yes indeed we failed to act on these words, instead we kept our calm & remained pacific, which is why peace prevailed no sooner than the attacks took place. It was only the monkey troop which was on the loose creating havoc & the media supporting them publishing false stories. Even 1 kannada daily went to the extent of reporting after exactly 1 year of the attack stating, there was a black day observation by the christians to mark the anniversary of the attacks while in fact nothing such has happened not even a call was given for that. Now tell me who wants to see the society in unrest. Crime is increased not because of the criminals but because of the good people who remain passive to act against them. Now it's time to return them what they deserve but in a legal way. That's exactly what is being done now to restore the peace, integrity & tranquility of the society.

Commission report is nothing short of truth, only half lies sugar-quoted to please right-wing governance in the State. Nothing can wrong for the right-winged governance in the legislature, bureaucracy, also quasi-judicial commission and also in the right-winged fourth estate. Victims need to cry to the Lord for Justice and Peace

Comedy of errors - Justice Somashekar's report is not accepted and condemend by all psedous but Justice Saldhana's report is praised. Why? why cannot you say that he too gave a biased opinion being a christian? apply same yardstick. Saldhana is an aggrieved party where as Justice Somashekar is impartial person and not party to the suit. His decision is impartial.

Church Attack: Two fact finding commissions. Both are ex-Judges. One says glass of water was half another says NO.. IT WAS FULL . Congratulations Justice MF Saldanha…majority of them have joined you “IT WAS FULL”.. bias, dishonest..overflew it. It shows how much partial and dishonest was Mr. Somashekar during his tenure of being a Judge.

Its just a matter of time when those responsible will be punished by God. Let all those responsible for these attacks on the church remember that when God gives punishment it is very severe. All the policemen responsible for the attack on churches please remember that there is a lot worse awaiting to happen for you. The way the policemen had manhandled the innocent people, is a thing we should all be ashamed of. .God only have mercy on all those responsible for the church attacks and that the culprits get what they deserve. BJP, Bajrang Dal, Sangh Parivar and the policemen

Why the people differs and not act like religious holy book wherein Lord Jesus mentioned said "if someone slaps you on the left cheek, give the right one also". Better should keep open churches in neighbouring states to vandilise it by Bajarang Dal people!!. If so one day it's not so far, there way towards one community people will change and lead good life in society.

Why not given Empire Building for terrorist to attack while WTC destroyed completely?. Instead they had destroyed whole country like in Iraq,Afghanistan. Everything is mentioned in Holy Book and no one is follow. To refer it easy but to apply on himself is difficulty. That's why no peace will previal in society.

I fully agree Justice Saldanha's statement that any commission or inquiry set up by the government to investigate its own actions is unlikely to be impartial. The outcome of Yeddyyurappa ordered judicial commission headed by B. Padmaraj can be pre-concluded. Yeddyyurappa is going to get a clean chit.
