Mangaluru: Renowned Yakshagana artiste Bhagavatha Balipa Prasad Bhat no more

Mangaluru, Apr 11: Well-known Yakshagana primary artiste of Kateel Mela, Kondi Prasada Balipa Bhagavat of Balipa clan passed away on Monday, April 11 in a private hospital here after a brief illness.

Bhagavatha Balipa Prasad Bhat had not participated in the Yakshagana during the current season as he was sick. Balipa Prasad, son of Balipa Narayan Bhagawath was the chief Bhagawatha of the second mela.

With the art running in his blood, he taken after his father too has etched a name in Yakshagana art form.

The deceased has left behind his father, wife and three daughters.
