Joyful 'Sambhram-2011' Heralds Tenth Year of Bellevision UAE

Dubai, Feb 4: 'Sambhram 2011,' the most-awaited event of the year organised to mark the 10th anniversary of Bellevision was celebrated with great pomp and gusto at Dubai Grand Hotel here on Friday February 4.
President of Bellevision UAE, Ronald D'Souza welcomed the dignitaries and the guests with bouquets. In his introductory remarks, he traced the foundation of Bellevision UAE and its progress over the past decade.
He also spoke about the contribution of Bellevision UAE to various causes of social relevance, especially in the field of education by supporting a number of economically disadvantaged students of the Church-aided higher primary school, and St Lawrence Composite PU College by way of reimbursing their school and college fees and even providing financial assistance to a number of young students to continue their higher education in various fields.
‘Sambhram-2011’ was then inaugurated by the dignitaries on the dais by lighting the lamp, accompanied by a loud round of applause by the packed audience.
A special felicitation programme was arranged by Bellevision UAE to the guest of honour of the day, Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of ‘Daijiworld.com,’ who has been one of the strong supporters of Bellevision UAE.
In his speech, Walter Nandalike congratulated Bellevision UAE on the occasion of its decennial celebration. "Daijiworld and Bellevision started in the same year, back in 2001, and both have completed 10 years successfully. Both have achieved success in respective fields," he observed, and assured his full support and cooperation to Bellevision in its future endeavours. He also he thanked Bellevision for honouring him.
The chief guest of the event William Aranha, a native of Belle and a successful entrepreneur inaugurated the 'Poor Children’s Education Fund.' Speaking on the occasion, William Aranha applauded Bellevision and its contribution to the society.
Smitha D'Souza thanked all those who were involved in making the decennial celebration of Bellevision a great success.
Rony D'Cunha and other singers - Loreen, Dony Correa, Preema D'Souza, Maria and Godwin enthralled the crowds with melodious numbers. The songs presented included Dis raath moga, Gitarachi taar, Thun mujha mogacho, Anjelina, Roseline, Claudia, Maria, Ghadi udeli, Masti Masti, Bebdo, Ye moga ye thun gopanth, Ye nari ye, Ye chedwa, Endendu ninnanu marethu (Kannada), Piso, Oh Marie Marie and My name is Anna Maria.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed the Konkani numbers. Arun Carlo and his troupe’s foot tapping music brought the crowd on the dance floor. Sizzling dance performances by Feet Beat Group dazzled the crowd.
Besides the enthralling musical numbers, and exciting dance numbers there were intermittent jokes and rib-tickling comedy show presented by the Alponse D’Souza and Santhosh D’Souza.
Uttam Menezes compered the event and organized some interesting spot games which kept the audience guessing. Most of the members participated in the games with full enthusiasm and excitement.
Novelty sales and its auction was one of the added attractions of the day which got ample response from the crowd. There was a raffle draw for the entry coupons and lucky winners won some exclusive prizes.
The event ended with a bang with the crowd hitting the dance floor for Baila.
The entire stage and entertainment programme kept the guests and audience busy, engrossed and excited. As the audience applauded the entire programme, the organizing committee of Bellevision UAE felt a sense of relief and achievement as they had to meet a tough challenge and work really hard to put up five hours of non-stop entertainment.
‘Sambhram 2011’ brought Belleans as well as people from in and around Mangalore and Udupi together and gave them an authentic Konkani musical treat which they thoroughly enjoyed.
