Well done Mangalore ! Good for the youngsters to pick the finer points in cricket when they see the stalwarts wield the bat and hurl the cricket ball.
I had the privelege of organsing the first ever 7 a side cricket tournament for colleges in Dakshina Kannada on behalf of the Rotary Club of Panambur Port Trust a few years ago at the same Mangalore Port Trust Cricket ground.
Great initiative by Mr. Joseph Rego and supported by Dr. Srikant Rai and Mr. Arjun Pinto. Such programmes can go a long way in improving the standard of the game in Mangalore. High time Mangalore beat Bangalore and other teams convincingly rather than just taking part. Forget the Olympic motto of only taking part. Now onwards, Mangalore should win everything in front of them.
Is anyone listening out there ?
