Gold worth Rs 5.34 lac concealed in Burkha buttons seized at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, Apr 16: The Customs officials at the international airport in the city confiscated gold worth Rs 5.34 lac that was being illegally transported by concealing in the buttons of Burkha on Friday April 15.

According to the custom officials accused woman arrived from Dubai to the city on April 14 evening.

In total, 100 gram gold of 24 carat purity was smuggled in the form of small ring shaped circular split washer type objects concealed inside the press buttons of Burkhas.

Further investigation is being carried out by the Customs officials.

    you seem to be thick brained fellow...you dont understand what I have written...do you think that lady or any other person are the only ones smuggling gold through mlore airport? it is day in day out business..sometimes due to the rivalry between customs officers or the smugglers these incidents come to light...samaj gaya?? this is how our demo crazy works...

    Credit goes to none other than customs officials who able to trace out hidden unauthorised things easily. Moreover customs officials keep on watch more on people arriving from Gulf as always more of smuggled goods flown in one or other way. Many times even they smuggle drugs to gulf countries conceal in between Holy Books or in body parts..where in no one can imaginable.
