Kalaburagi, Apr 18: The CID team, which intensified the scam in the PSI recruitment examination for 545 posts that was held in October 2021, raided the house of Divya Hagaragi, former president of women unit of BJP, on Old Jevargi Road of the city on Sunday April 17.

The house was locked when the CID sleuths raided. When the officials inquired with Rajesh Hagaragi, husband of Divya Hagaragi, they did not get any information. He evaded the question by saying that he will be in the farm land all the time and does not know anything about the scam. The sleuths broke open the lock and searched the house and confiscated some documents.

Jnanajyoti school of Gokula Nagara in the city, where the PSI exams took place, is owned by Divya Hagaragi.

Praveen Sood, DGP said, “As per the orders of home minister, with regards to the alleged scam in recruitment of PSIs, CID is investigating the matter. Many are being interrogated. After we get the initial reports, further action will be taken.”

Meanwhile, MLA Priyanka Kharge demanded resignation of home minister Araga Jnanendra alleging scam of Rs 210 crore in the recruitment of PSIs. He alleged that around 300 posts, out of 545 are offered against bribe of minimum Rs 70 to 80 lac for each candidate.
