Udupi: Gold thief arrested, remanded to judicial custody

Udupi, Apr 18: City police arrested Gururaja Naika (35), a resident of Indrali, on the accusation of stealing gold ornaments from a house at Gundibail.

According to the complaint filed by Sunita, a resident of Gundibail, she had kept two gold chains on the teapoy in the hall of her house before going to bed on March 25. The same was missing when she got up at 6 am on the following day and checked. The value of the ornaments is Rs 3.6 lac. The thief had stolen the same through the window of the house which was kept open.

Police arrested Gururaja Naika near Kukkikatte railway bridge. They also confiscated a scooter that he stole from Manipal. He was produced in court and has been remanded to judicial custody.

ASI Prasad and personnel arrested the accused. The operation was conducted by team including Pramod Kumar K, inspector, PSI Mahesh T M, ASI Prasad Kumar and other personnel.

    So he is following and checking every house about their movements. Whenever he got the chance he will grab it. In few days he will come out and start to do his old crimes.
