Yet to Get Official Nod from ICC for Three Matches: Dalmiya

Kolkata, Feb 8, (PTI) : Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya today said he was waiting for an official communication after ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said Eden Gardens would ''in all likelihood'' host the three World Cup matches next month.

"We are hearing that Lorgat said the three matches could be held in Eden Gardens. We hear that the ICC team that inspected the venue yesterday has said the Eden is ready. But it's not yet official," Dalmiya told PTI.

"We don't want to create any controversy now. If we get any official word on this, we will let you know," he said.

A three-member ICC team yesterday inspected the Eden Gardens that bore a transformed look from the one during their last inspection on January 25.

Not happy with the progress of renovation work at the Eden Gardens, ICC had ruled out the venue for the India vs England match scheduled for February 27 and the tie was shifted to Bangalore.

The remaining three World Cup matches at the venue are: South Africa vs Ireland (March 15), Netherlands vs Ireland (March 18) and Zimbabwe vs Kenya (March 20).
