Bantwal, April 27: Bantwal town police personnel have arrested two brothers suspected to have severely assaulted a Bengaluru-based man after arguments over allowing sufficient space to overtake the vehicle behind them.

The arrested were Kannur residents Ismael alias Batish and Yasin. The side mirror of a vehicle was damaged at Brahmarakootlu toll gate when the vehicle at the back was trying to overtake the front vehicle.

The heated exchange of words has resulted in alleged assaults by Ismael and Batish.

Bengaluru resident Bhasker Pai had arrived for a programme at Udupi accompanied by his family members. He was returning after the programme. The brutal assault of Bhasker Pai by the brothers in the presence of Bhasker Pai’s family at Brahmarakootlu toll gate, pushing him on the ground, kicking him and the family members pleading to leave him is captured in the CC Camera at the toll gate.

Police arrested the two brothers within a few hours on the basis of Bhasker Pai’s complaint.

The operation was conducted by the Bantwal town police team in the leadership of SI Avinash Gowda under directions from police inspector Vivekananda and guidance from DySP Pratap Thorat.
