Mumbai, Feb 13 (IANS) More than 7,000 people participated in the 'Mumbai Cyclothon - Tour de Mumbai 2011' here Sunday, two days after the Nashik leg of the race.
The second edition of the cyclothon kicked off from Bandra Reclamation near the Bandra-Worli Sealink here in the morning and it saw Maharashtra Public Works Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and several television personalities take to cycles.
Several children aged 8-13 also took part in the three-kilometre ‘Kids Race'.
Apart from the 'Elite International Men' race, which covered a distance of 104 km, the other categories included the 14-km 'Corporate Challenge Ride' and the 12-km 'Green Ride'.
The total prize money of Rs.500,000 will be distributed among the top 20 winners of the cyclothon.
