Canada, May 2: The Mangalorean Association of Canada has made a resoundingly successful difference within the ethnic community, nationally and internationally since its inception in 2002. The Mangalorean Association of Canada (MAC) was born with gigantic dreams and unrivalled passion to make the Konkani community a force to reckon with. One of MAC’s first initiatives was to establish pioneer programmes for family led social engagement, collaboration, and a networking platform to encourage people to come together for lighthearted entertainment, leadership opportunities and demonstration of talents and skills.

MAC’s 20th anniversary will both celebrate and memorialize the beginning of the end of a dark chapter, the pandemic hardships and with its Family Social will heal the community and create a sense of belonging, hope and purpose. The event will be held on May 6 at the Red Rose Convention Centre, Mississauga at 6.30 pm. The social promises to be an amazing fun filled evening with the extremely talented band, Big Foot whose pulsating music and multi generational songs will be hard to resist. DJ Kaya will add another dimension with his unique mixing style of music to get people on the dance floor and Melwyn D’Silva, the emcee has an unparalleled reputation for eloquence, entertainment, and effortless transitions between different segments of the programme.

The most unique, jaw dropping main feature of the evening will be a performance by Dr Aneesh Vidyashankar, a violinist, composer, and architect. Known as the ‘Walking Violinist’ for his amazing skill in walking and playing fusion music, Dr Vidyashankar was born in Bengaluru and introduced to Carnatic music at 3 years of age. Formally trained by his father, S R Vidyashankar, Aneesh performed solo on stage when he was just six years old. With his outstanding performances on various international stages and for famous dignitaries, the Mangalorean Association of Canada is profoundly honoured to
welcome and experience a unique and truly one-of-a-kind demonstration of music. Aneesh’s most recent viral success was an innovative twist to the immensely popular song ‘Oo Antava’ from Pushpa.

The demand for tickets for the MAC Family Social has been exponentially high especially since it is the first large event organized after 2 years of Covid lockdown. This event promises an evening of sophistication, exquisite music, delectable food, enchanting prizes, and an opportunity to meet old friends, make new ones and enjoy uninhibited fun in a safe, family-oriented environment.

Please refer to the flyer for ticket and event details.
