Udupi, May 19: Deputy commissioner (DC) M Kurma Rao declared holiday for all schools and PU colleges of the district on May 20 due to incessant rains.

The whole district is being battered by heavy downpour from the past three days.

“The meteorological department has issued red alert for the district. In view of a precautionary measure, all the Anganwadi, and government and private primary, high schools and PU colleges have been declared a holiday on May 20,” the DC said in a press release.
