Mangalore, Feb 27: Fudar Prathistana organized a felicitation ceremony to honour the top scorers and rank holders in SSLC, PUC, degree and post graduation at the Diocesan level (Christian) at Milagres Jubilee Hall, here on Sunday February 27.
Corporate consultant Steven L D’Souza was the keynote speaker. In his speech he said that there is need for Mangalore to gain back its past glory of harmonious environment. He pointed out that lack of acceptance of reality is main problem with the younger generation. They should first study how their ancestors struggled in their life. Though Catholics brought large numbers of institutions, young generation are seen not making use of such institution, he lamented.
The object behind this move was to create awareness among Christian youths about the importance of higher education and to make known the available facilities provided by the government.
He called upon the students to aspire for the profession that tune with their passion. Fr Denis Moras Prabhu presided over the programme. President of Catholic Sabha Walter Cyril Pinto was the chief guest.
This year as many as 150 students were honoured. The parents also happily participated in the programme.
