This event comes within the “Precious Investment” campaign, which is released by the Supreme Council for Family Affairs within all its institutions, aiming in forming families, educational and social institutions, and ready in facing future challenges through raising children and preparing them well.

At first, the lecturers explained the definition of cervical cancer and how it is the most common cancer in women after breast cancer. Later, they spoke about the most important reasons for the spread of this disease one of them being sexual intercourse at an early age  and smoking. All of these lead to lack and immunology vulnerability. They also mentioned that in many cases the symptoms are not clear except for the ones that are in advanced stages. For example, the symptoms such as loss of appetite, weight loss, pain, swelling in the foot and others.

It is much easier now to discover and detect the advancement of its stages. Several tests such as the CT scan and MRI should be carried out, but as for the treatment it always depends on the advanced stages of the disease and the size of the cancer tumor. In addition to this it also depends on the age and health of the woman diagnosed with cancer and her desire in having children in the future. “We always strive in giving full attention to women’s health in all aspects. So we are obligated in raising such awareness rough educating women about different diseases that are spread on a huge scale. Unfortunately, some people are not aware and not educated enough about the   present disease. With the association of GMC spital, Ajman  we were able to educate and raise awareness in women about Cervical Cancer which is the second largest cancer prevalent amongst women after breast cancer. We sincerely hope that we had an active role in spreading awareness and knowledge in early detection and prevention in the early stages of this disease”, said Badria Al Ali, Head of Media and Marketing.

At the end, a brief question and answer session was conducted for ladies present during the all important lecture followed by distribution of vouchers and gifts to participants by the sponsors of the event.
