Udupi: Annual Manipal Arogya Card launched, MLA acknowledges Kasturba Hospital's service

Udupi, Jun 4: Manipal Arogya Card 2022 was launched symbolically by K Ragupathi Bhat, MLA, Udupi on Saturday June 4, at Dr T M Pail Hall, Manipal.

After launching the Manipal Arogya Card, the MLA said, “Kasturba Hospital Manipal is the prestigious hospital of the state and is providing treatment to patients of many districts.” He thanked the Manipal group for dedicating Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi exclusively for the treatment of Covid patients during the first and second wave of pandemic. He also applauded the Manipal group for providing treatment to millions of people at a discounted rate through Manipal Arogya Card Scheme.

The card was incepted with an aim to make quality healthcare treatment affordable to the public and the cardholder can avail benefits of medical and dental services across Manipal Hospitals in Manipal, Karkala, Mangaluru, Goa and Kateel.

In his presidential address, Dr H S Ballal, MAHE Manipal said, “Over the past 21 years, we are providing high quality health care services to millions of peoples at a discounted rate with social care. Increasing enrolment of members year by year shows the popularity of Manipal Arogya Card. The money invested in buying the card will earned back in the form of discounts in just two or three time use of the card.”

Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, vice chancellor, MAHE Manipal, who was the guest of honour of the programme said, “This scheme was started for the people of the undivided Dakshina Kannada district in the year 2000 and now we are delighted to say that this scheme extends to more than 12 districts of coastal Karnataka and central Karnataka including Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Shimoga, Chikkamagaluru, Bellary etc, and also to the neighbouring states like Kerala, Goa and more. The cardholder can avail benefits of medical and dental services across our hospitals at Manipal, Udupi, Karkala, Mangaluru, Goa and Kateel.”

Dr PLNG Rao, pro vice chancellor, Medical and Dental Sciences, felicitated best performing MAC representative of Manipal region. Dr Dilip G Naik, pro vice chancellor, MAHE, Mangaluru campus, felicitated the best performing MAC representative of Mangaluru region. Dr Venkatraya M Prabhu pro vice chancellor, Health Science MAHE, Manipal released Manipal Arogya Card 2022 information poster.

Dr Sharath K Rao, dean, KMC, Manipal welcomed the gathering, Dr B Unnikrishnan, dean, KMC Mangaluru, rendered the vote of thanks. Krishna Prasad B S was the master of ceremony for the programme.

People can enrol for the card at Kasturba Hospital Manipal, all the network hospitals and with the authorised representatives.

About the Manipal Arogya Card

The Manipal Arogya Card holder can avail discount of 50% on consultation fee for both specialist and super specialist doctor, 30% discount on diagnostics and laboratory investigations, 20% discount on radiology investigation, OPD procedures and diabetic foot care, rs 100 discount on dialysis, up to 12% discount on the medicines purchased from hospital pharmacy & 25% concession on inpatient bill excluding consumables and packages in general ward.

Manipal Arogya Card 2022 will include one year and two-year scheme. For 1 year scheme, individual membership for 1 person, at Rs 300, family membership includes his/her spouse and any number of unmarried children below 25 years at Rs 600 and family plus membership includes individual spouse, any number of unmarried children below 25 years and up to 4 parents including in-laws at Rs 750 which is the additional benefit. For 2 year scheme individual scheme at Rs 500, family at Rs 800 and family plus at Rs 950.
