Bantwal, June 5: A car accident occurred on Saturday, June 5 at 1 am in Hosamaaru on the Bantwal-Dharmasthala Road due to huge pile-up of jelly stones, sand and blackstone resulting in damages to the car and also followed by protests by locals.

Locals have expressed their ire and alleged that the road has been deliberately blocked at Hosamaaru by piling up construction material to block the traffic leading to many houses in the locality.

The locals have alleged that this road blockage had resulted in accidents and hampered smooth flow of traffic. Locals say that protests against private parties which are piling up blackstone and other construction material have fallen on deaf ears.

The public wonder that even if there is a traffic hold up for a minute on the highways swift action is taken while on the other hand in Hosamaaru no action had been action to smoothen traffic flow.

The public also question the motive of the concerned department in keeping quiet over the matter when accidents have become common.

The members of the public have demanded removal of construction material as soon as possible to prevent further loss of lives or accidents.
