Mangaluru, June 7: The legislative council opposition leader Hariprasad has lashed at RSS stating that it is insulting the police and the army by claiming that they are protecting the country by wearing shorts, black cap and holding a stick.

Speaking at a program in city on Tuesday, June 7, he said there are soldiers to protect the country. “RSS has never gone ahead for the protection of the country at any given time. There is no mention in the Upanishad and Bhagavad Gita of Khaki shorts and black cap for protection of religion. They are throwing mud on the eyes of others by doing so. Is it possible for them to protect the country when they are unable to maintain equality? How did they change from Khaki shorts to pants when they were saying Khaki is a symbol of martyrdom and sacrifice? They can even buy a Rs 10 lac worth suite when they receive 40% commission,” he said.

“RSS has not established its identity anywhere else other than in the Hindi belt. The country is not confined to Hindi belt but spread to south, east and western ghats also. RSS was against freedom struggle. Ordinary people should be informed about it,” he said.

“The court has pronounced a clear verdict regarding Hijab. Implement the court order. The students involved in the Udupi Hijab controversy have approached the court. I salute the students as they have gone to court for their rights. BJP and Sangh Parivar began the Hijab commotion. SSLC examination results have collapsed to 20% in Dakshina Kannada district because of it. There are different religious customs in the county. We will be mad if we follow all of them,” he said.

“It seems that there are lapses in Congress if the community that benefited by land reforms has leaned towards BJP. Fake patriots called BJP are sowing poisonous seeds among people for their use. I have to devote more time in the district to set all of it right. The high command will decide about district parliamentary membership elections,” he said.

“Serious discussions were held about the elections. PCC presidents and CLP leaders will convince the congress workers. Congress will be strengthened again on the coast. It is necessary to explain to people how BJP misleads them for votes. Congress should create awareness among ordinary people. I am ahead in it,” said Hariprasad.

'Somebody from gutters doing textbook revision'

“People have felt the heat after issues came up on Brahmashree Narayana Guru and Abbakka Rani. They are trying to implement their hidden agenda by back door. Authors and professors are left out during revision of school text books and they are making somebody from the gutters sit saying that he is a professor. We will not allow an ignorant person to implement the Nagpur university agenda. We cannot say that RSS revised the text books as it is not a registered association,” he said.
