Bantwal: Woman injured in fire accident dies in hospital after a week

Bantwal, June 7: A 57-year-old woman died in a hospital where she was admitted after a fire accident in Shivajinagara Navagrama in Ammunje village of Bantwal taluk.

The deceased is identified as Girija, wife of Padmanabha Poojary.

Reportedly, on May 30 evening, when she was lighting fire to heat the water in the bathroom, her sari accidentally caught fire.

She was admitted in a serious condition to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru. But, she breathed her last on Monday midnight.

A case has been registered in Bantwal rural police station.
