She put the money into the ATM and waited for the receipt but the ATM showed her a message that the transaction is under process. The ATM stopped functioning and her money got stuck. She was unable to transfer the money through the machine to the recipient.

The woman became tensed and worried that the money was meant to be transferred for an emergency and so she requested the bank staff to deposit the money into the recipient’s account. When the bank staff did not respond favourably saying that the branch manager was not available and that she has to visit the head office to inform or complain regarding the matter. The bank staff also said the issue could take two to three days to get resolved.

On hearing this, the woman got tensed and angry and said that she came to the bank to deposit the money. She said the bank staff could have directly made a cash transfer to the recipient’s account.

She protested against the careless attitude and the answer given by the bank staff and she insisted that the bank should transfer the money that was stuck in the ATM to the recipient.

She sought the support of the passers-by and said that the bank staff was not responding or serving its customers properly. When the bank staff re-examined the ATM, it was confirmed that the money had been deposited. With the intervention of the police, the woman got her money back. She was told that whenever there is a delay in transaction it could get reversed and the whole issue came to an end with the bank staff getting the woman to sign a letter of undertaking.

The bank staff should have instructed her to deposit it in her account thru Cashier and then transfer the money to the beneficiary.

So many many complaints against PSU workers, why blame them when it is the govt which has not only kept them as public sector but has even combined our profitable banks with loss making banks. What incentive is there for staff to work leave alone excel.

Work or no work, the PSU employees are assured of their fat pay cheques at the end of the month, with rare accountability. You can see the board hanging saying Customer is the King there which is truly a mockery of the customer. Public should have at least one account in any good Private Sector Bank whose services are much better and always go a step forward to help the customers. Their customer grievance mechanism is also very responsive.

Many PSU bank staff are ignorant, rude and lazy... this is known fact... they are given handsome lifelong remuneration salary in service and lifetime pension after retirement... in case they die family will get pension.... in many branches we can find many staff happily gossiping / chitchatting among themselves not bothered about customers...in many branches employees from outside the state are found....

We Indians should learn the fact that we are not doing any favor to banks by depositing our money there. Actually banks are giving us a service to safeguard our money. Soon we will have to pay for this service as many banks in Europe and US do.

If we are not doing favour to the banks swamyji, why and for what banks top officials visit the houses/big organizations to open an account? If customers go to bank, they beg to open the accounts of all family members. Why Modiji wanted everyone to open an account? Untill few years before, whenever NRI's visit their houses on holidays, bank managers used to come their home...What a mind blowing treatment was given to them !! Sending cakes during Christmas or sweets during diwali etc. If no one wants to deposit in a particular bank, say for ex. Avadhootha bank......will that bank make profit ?

Very good step dear lady. As per my experience, many of the bank employees give careless answers and show careless behavior. They think all are uneducated....They make us visit the bank at least 2 times or more ...giving various reasons. They get salary because of the bank customers......They work in the bank since many years and they take training while joining the duty for some months. They should clarify our doubts what we ask for !! Instead they expect us to know every bank details....and surprisingly they do not know even after working since years....

please name and shame the bank/ branch. The citizen is depositing his hard earned money in these PSU banks and allowing them to survive. If all of us decide not to patronize them, then Modi & co. will not find any buyers for these obese/ non competitive organisations.

The PSU bank will never take the extra step to help it's customers. They are not at all customer friendly. The latest excuse staff is absent even to update a passbook, why cannot others who are in the branch update a passbook? The customer should be adamant like this lady to avail services of the bank........!!!

This is rare but can happen in any cash deposit machine... Lady is lucky to get back the money for her emergency as she is local and people helped her along with Police... If she was in any metro city she would have had to wait for 3 to 5 working days... Whenever you are in real hurry it is not advisable to use the CDMs... Especially if the sum is large...
