Mangaluru: Deputy commissioner felicitates district’s SSLC toppers

Mangaluru, Jun 8: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V on Wednesday June 8, felicitated 18 students for securing 625 marks in the SSLC examination at the zilla panchayat office.

Prior to the felicitation, students shared their experience of preparations for the examinations with the DC and also expressed their ambitions.

The DC said, “By securing 625 marks, you students have brought laurels to the district. Along with academic activities, you should also involve yourselves in extracurricular activities. Further, involve yourself in any indoor and outdoor games."

He also said that students should rise in life. “Along with that, you should imbibe social concern. Students in their future should help the downtrodden and weaker sections of society,” he said.

"As 50% of the students who scored 625 are from the Kannada medium, students should never lose hope. In your PU education initially, you may face difficulties when you hear new words or terms. But, when you put in extra efforts, gradually you learn and master it,” he said. Stating students to give importance to reason, the DC said, "Knowledge will never go waste."

He also called upon students to get ready to compete globally.

Zilla panchayat CEO Kumar said, "Students by securing 625 marks have brought laurels to the district, parents, school, and to their teachers. You should also remember the people who are responsible for your success. You should go on the right path which leads to success, there is no alternative to it.

"As you topped in the SSLC examinations, society will always has expectations from you. All of you should always retain the position that you have achieved and not let it go. It is your responsibility," he said.

The DC and CEO felicitated the students by offering them flowers, a certificate and a book.

DDPI Sudhakar K, parents and teachers of the students were present.
