Mangaluru: All Banks Christian Employees Association to hold 20th year celebration on Jun 11

Mangaluru, Jun 9: The All Banks Christian Employees Association (ABCEA) marks its celebratory event of the completion of 20 years, here at St Sebastian Chucch hall Bendore on June 11. The main celebrant of the event would be Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the bishop of diocese of Mangalore.

The celebrations would commence on the June 11, at St Sebastian Church, Bendore. Afterwards, a formal function would follow at the church hall at 6:30 pm. The event would be graced by the honoured presence of Walter Nandalike, founder, Daijiworld Group of Media. The guests of honour would be D Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South, U T Khader, MLA Mangaluru and Mishal Queenie D’Costa, IRS, BE(IS) MA(Public Administration) and deputy director of Indirect Taxes & Customs, Mumbai, who would be felicitated on the occasion as well.

“Earlier, peoples’ perspective of bankers was that they would only sit in air-conditioned rooms and show no concern towards serving the public. We then decided to request all the bank members to gather for a meeting and discuss how to go about with this ahead,” said Vincent L Dsouza, founder member, ABCEA.

He also said that there were presently 150 members in the ABCEA and other senior retired staff as well. He expressed his gratitude to Ronald Colaco, NRI businessman based in Dubai who had generously donated an amount of Rs 5 lac for various scholarships and Rs 2 lac for accident relief to the deserving.

“We function mainly in Mangaluru. Since we were caught up in a busy schedule, we could not expand our reach to Udupi district, although there are a few members there as well,” he added. He wholeheartedly thanked the media for extending their promising support.

Marcel M D’Souza, founder chairman, Dolphy Saldanha, PRO, office bearer, Francis Pais, founder member and Irene Lobo, executive committee member were present.
