Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, June 10: A 57-year-old woman has filed a police complaint against six persons for cheating her and her daughter of Rs 45,50,000 by asking them to invest in the name of Stock Trading Goldhil.

The accused are Grenville Vas and Lavanya.

In a complaint filed by the victim, it is alleged that during the marriage ceremony of one of the accused, they were introduced to the Grenville Vas.

Later, the complainant also claimed that Grenville was working at Stock Trading Goldhil in Meera Road of Mumbai and a branch office will commence operations at Mangaluru and the complete responsibility of the Mangaluru branch will vest with one of the accused in the coming days.

In the complaint, she said Grenville and another accused promised the complainant that if money was invested in Goldhil, within 37 days, the investors will get 30% interest. So, trusting them, the complainant's daughter had invested Rs 45,50,000 on various occasions in the year 2020.

Cash was transferred to the bank accounts of Greneville Vas and another accused. But, the accused have neither refunded the money which was given nor was any interest paid on the deposit, she stated in her complaint.

In December 2021, the woman had filed a complaint with the CEN police station.

This is absolutely ridiculous! No one in their right mind will hand over 45 lakhs expecting such high returns in a few days! This smells very fishy! In fact it seems like the mother and daughter duo are trying to blackmail the accused to somehow get money out of them by playing the "helpless" card. The accused should file a counter case against the mother daughter duo for defamation.

This is nonsense talk clearly. No one will give 45 lakhs cash and expect it back with returns in cash. The fraud business was initially thought to be legitimate. Obviously they would have done bank transfer. The accused should prove the money transferred was for some other purpose and not this scam. And there is the proof. Plz refrain from irrational comment.

People really are dumb. 30% interest in 37 days? Really? And you go and dump 45 lakhs into this, and when it all gets eaten up, file complaint? Greed makes people do very foolish things. Have to be a special type of foolish to invest hard earned money in something like this!
