Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf not dead, clarifies family

Daijiworld Media Network - Islamabad

Islamabad, Jun 10: Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf is not dead, his family said on June 10, denying reports of his demise amid a swirl of conflicting statements. Musharraf (78), who has been living in Dubai since March 2016, ruled Pakistan from 1999 to 2008.

Musharraf's family clarified on Twitter saying, "He is not on the ventilator. Has been hospitalized for the last 3 weeks due to a complication of his ailment (Amyloidosis). Going through a difficult stage where recovery is not possible and organs are malfunctioning. Pray for ease in his daily living."

Earlier, Pakistani media outlet Waqt News reported the demise of Musharraf on their Twitter handle. The tweet has since been deleted.

Pervez Musharraf, who was born in New Delhi, took power in a coup in 1999 and then served as president of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008.

The former president had launched the Kargil operation without the civilian government’s approval. Aides of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif have said that he had sought to derail talks with India through Kargil Operation.

After the partition, his family settled in Karachi where he attended Saint Patrick’s School. He joined the Pakistan Military Academy at Kakul and graduated from the institution in 1964. He was subsequently commissioned in the Pakistan Army.

He was a dictator . When we die what we take nothing but people will remember your deeds and goodness to this world. His contribution to world was hiding laden in his military base and milking money from western nations. Finally took a refuge in Middle East and now final refuge to unknown place
