Mangalore: 18-year Old Abducted Boy Complains of Forced Conversion

Mangalore, Mar 9: An 18 year-old boy named Nithin Poojary was allegedly abducted by Jillu, belonging to a Christian community on Wednesday March 9.
Nithin was working in a juice centre near Kankanady since 20 days. He hails from Golithattu of Uppinangady.
Jillu was visiting the juice centre frequently and on Tuesday March 8, he invited Nithin to his house. They reached the house located at Ashok Nagar at 11am. The victim alleged that after entering his house, Jillu showed his true colour by revealing his intention for which Nithin was brought there.
The victim alleged that he was put inside a room and forced to convert to Christianity. When the victim disagreed for the same, Jillu allegedly removed Nithin’s clothes and assaulted him. He was also not given food at night and was made to sleep on the surface without any bed.
The victim told press persons that he somehow managed to reach state bank bus stand today morning. Then he called his home using a coin phone box. This was brought to the notice of Bajrang Dal members. They helped the boy to bring this to the notice of police.
A case has been registered at Urva Police Station. The alleged abductor and his wife are reportedly absconding after the matter was known, said police.
