Udupi, June 11: The Yakshagana Kalaranga, Udupi Yakshanidhi, Vidya poshak Yaksha Shikshana organization handed over a newly-built house 'Ganesh Krupa' sponsored by chartered accountant Ganesh Kanchan of Udupi to its beneficiary on Sunday, June 11.
The new house was handed over to the students of Vidyaposhak Sharath Kumar, CA student, Jnanesh Kumar, final year engineering student, their parents Shantha and Shekhar Marakala from Kotekere of Barkuru.
The sponsor of the house, C A Ganesh Kanchan and his wife Prapulla G Kanchan inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
In his inaugural address, Ganesh Kanchan said, "One should be always grateful. We should not forget those who help us. When we reach a good position, we must pay off the debt by helping someone else, who is in need. Let’s not forget those who helped us reach our destination'.
The guest on the occasion, Srinivas Shettigar, owner of Shettigar Industries, assured his helping hand to social activities and programmes of Yakshagana Kalaranga.
'This was the 29th house built with the help of donors, and six new houses are ready to be inaugurated in this month', said M Gangadhar Rao, president of Yakshagana Kalaranga.
U Vishwanath Shenoy, Rajgopala Acharya, Thulasidas Kanchan, Vasanth Kanchan, S V Bhat and V G Shetty, vice presidents, Manohar K and Prof K Sadashiv Rao and members of the Yakshagana Kalaranga were present.
Prof Narayan M Hegde proposed a vote of thanks.
Murali Kadekar, secretary of Kalaranga delivered the keynote address and compered the programme.
