Kasargod: Welder falls to death from first floor during work

Kasargod, Jun 13: In a tragic incident that occurred at Mandekapu, a youth fell to death from the first floor while working.

Sandeep Shetty (35), a welder by profession and son of late Aithappa Shetty, resident of Herur Kangve under Mangalpady panchayat limits, is the unfortunate man who lost his life.

Sandeep was taking measurement of roof of a house in order to install sheet. He lost his balance, fell down from the top floor and died on the spot.

Sandeep was unmarried and is survived by sister. He is the vice president of BJP Yuva morcha of Manjeshwara Mandala and founder president of Friends Herur organization. He was also a member of Herur Veeramaruti gymnasium school.

    Most of the contractors don't provide safety gear to their workers like helmets while working in Multifloor apartments and houses. I saw some GAIL gas company workers installing gas pipelines in Multifloor buildings in Valencia without safety gear which is risk of death.

    People do not take safety precautions ..no safety jackets,helmets,shoes ..or hanging trolleys if you are coming down from the top floor. We have this great "Chaltha hai " attitude..
