Kasargod: Mysuru resident promises jobs to 4, gets arrested for cheating

Kasargod, Jun 18: A resident of Mysuru was arrested by Badiyadka police on charges of cheating in the name of providing employment.

The accused has been identified as R V Hiremath (48). The police arrested Hiremath based on a complaint lodged by Geethesh, a resident of Perla.

Hiremath has been accused of cheating the complainant running into lakhs of rupees on the pretext of getting the complainant employment. Hiremath had obtained Rs 3 lac from Geethesh promising him of an attender's job in Mysore Silks and cheated the latter.

Later, Geethesh in his complaint said he was cheated and did not get employment. He said he had paid Hiremath in May 2021 and in July 2021 and similarly Hiremath had obtained money up to Rs 9 lac from three other persons totalling an amount of Rs 12 lac.

Police said Hiremath had cheated four persons and that he has been produced before the Kasargod court and remanded to judicial custody.
