Bantwal, Jun 20: A man was stabbed by a group of six people at Agari of Salethur village in the taluk. He is admitted to hospital in Mangaluru.

According to the details, complainant Prashant (30), resident of Krishnapur, Idya village in Mangaluru had gone to the house of Nagesh at around 6.30 pm June 19 to clarify about the misunderstanding that was between the boys of his gang.

As Prashant was speaking to Nagesh, Chandrahasa and Devdas, the argument got heated up and Devdas caught Prashant from behind with the intention of killing him and Nagesh gave knife to Chandrahas and asked him to stab Prashant. Chandrahas stabbed Prashant on his neck and stomach. In addition, three other people also kicked the complainant and he fell on the ground. The six escaped from the spot.

Prashant was rushed to Puttur hospital, where the doctors after administering first aid, advised him to be taken to Mangaluru for higher treatment.

An old enmity is said to be reason behind this attempt to murder.

A complaint in this regard is filed in Vittal police station.
