Mangalore: St Joseph’s College Day Spreads Bonhomie

Mangalore, Mar 19: St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor celebrated College Day with enthusiasm in the Open Air Theatre of the college on Friday March 18.
The celebrations commenced at 6.00 pm. Jesudas Andrade, IT Services and Management Consultant, CEO and Executive Coach, Bangalore was the chief guest for the occasion.
Shobha Mendonca, managing director, Middle East Factory LLC, Dubai was the guest of honour. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore diocese and president of SJEC presided over the function.
Fr Valerian D’Souza, director welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr Joseph Gonsalvis presented the annual report. It was followed by distribution of prizes to students who excelled in academics and extra curricular activities.
The chief guest and guest of honour addressed the students. Later the Bishop honored the PhD awardees. The names of the awardees were announced by professor Eric Patrao, dean, P & D.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the convenor Dr Rio D’Souza, dean, academic affairs. The college anthem was led by Benson Mathew and team from the college choir group.
The students also presented entertaining cultural programmes. The celebrations winded up with National Anthem.
