Extending GST compensation to states, final decision in August, says Bommai

Bengaluru. Jun 30: The GST Council meeting discussed the issue of extending GST compensation to States at its recent meeting held in Chandigarh under the Chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

However, a final decision in this regard would be taken in August, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said while speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Bommai said, the GST Legal Committee has taken measures to sort out the legal impediments, the recommendations of the Fitment Committee have been accepted.
