Mumbai, Mar 19: Angara Poojary (68), an entreprenuer hailing from Kemmannu-Kalmady of Udupi district was brutally gunned down by a group of youth here on Saturday March 19. Poojary was running a cake shop at S V Road in Goregaon (west) in the city.

Hailing from an agriculture family, Angara Poojary moved to Mumbai at an early age (about 55 years ago) owing to poor financial conditions. Initially, he worked in a hotel, and later ventured into the hospitality business and went on to own a few hotels.
The deceased had two wives, four sons and a daughter. Among them, his son Harish Poojary was killed in an encounter. He divorced one wife while the other one is living in Udupi.
Gangster Hemanth Poojary’s hand is suspected in this gruesome act. It is said that Angara had been receiving telephone calls demanding 'hafta' since three years, and he had also received a threat call on Saturday morning.
