Mangaluru, Jul 1: MLA U T Khader on Friday July 1 said that the state government has sanctioned three pre-university colleges in the state, of which one college will come in Deralakatte on the premises of Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose Government High School Campus.

He was addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here.

"The classes will begin from the current academic year. The government has sanctioned this college on the basis of the strength of the students. This will be helpful for the development of the constituency," he added.

He further said, “The district in-charge minister should immediately hold disaster management committee meeting along with officials to tackle the monsoon problems.”

He also said that in his constituency, he had formed a task force committee at gram panchayat levels. He said, “This task force committee involves representatives, officials, and organizations of the respective gram panchayat. A helpline center has been started in three places in the constituency to tackle the problems in the monsoon.

“As landslides are increasing in many places of my constituency, it has been brought to the notice of the deputy commissioner who has sought a report from the experts in NITK, Surathkal,” he said.

Stating the houses in Someshwara and Sea Grounds are posing threat due to sea erosion, Khader said that the state government has no concern about the general public. “The government is not taking any measures to control sea erosion. If a sea wall is built in these places, sea erosion can be controlled. If the district in-charge minister or the port minister dial a call to the officials, the problem will be sorted out. Prior to the monsoon, the government has to hold a monsoon session to discuss the problems, but this government has not done it because they know that the opposition will expose them. The government has no concern towards the public," he said.

Condemning the brutal murder of a tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Khader said, "Irrespective of caste, community, and creed, everyone should condemn this heinous crime. The culprits should be hanged. This is happening because such anti-social elements have no fear of law and order.”

The union government should also probe the people behind the accused, he said.
