Mangalore: Pa Go Award Conferred to Journalist Laxmi Machina

Mangalore, Mar 20: Padyana Gopalakrishna (Pa Go) annual award for the journalists for rural reporting was presented to journalist Laxmi Machina on Sunday March 20, for his report titled “Banjarumale
Abhivruddi Kanasu-Kadinalli Kayuthave Kutumbagalu” (Banjarumale dream of development- Families are waiting in Jungle), which was published in Udayavani Kannada daily on August 26, 2010.

The award was presented by Dr V S Acharya, minister for higher education, on behalf of Pa Go Memorial Committee and Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union (DKWJU) at a function held at the Press Club here. The award consists of Rs 5001, a citation and a memento.

The award is sponsored by Dr Veerendra Hegde, Dharmadhikari, Dharmasthala.

    Bajaru Male lies in the Tq of belthangady having no basic civil facilities which is one of the poorest place to live with.The author emphasized the plight of those unlucky and poor people in his report which brought for him journalistic award of PA-GO.
