Mangaluru: Illegal beef shed raided, 95 kg meat seized, accused absconds

Mangaluru, July 3: The Mangaluru Rural police raided a shed where allegedly beef was being sold illegally in Arkula Kote of Arkula village on Sunday, July 3.

However, the accused absconded and the police confiscated 95 kilos of meat, the machete used for slaughtering, a weighing machine and other equipment used for the illegal trade.

The accused absconder Basit was running the slaughter house in the cattle shed belonging to A K Khalib, police said.

A complaint has been filed in the rural police station.

    it is very surprising that in many cases the accused escape from the spot when police raid? how this is possible..this clearly shows that there are informers among khaki who take hafta from these kind of butchers and when top people decide to ride inform the matter to the butcher so that he runs away...yenchina cat and mouse gobbu marayare...by the way yesterday beef feast it seems in all houses of khakis...

    If India ban slaughter cows then import from western nations for those beef eaters full fill thier food needs. Yes cow is a holy in India and everyone need to respect it without any doubts and fail. Also stealing is not good but people legally slaughter then it should be respected. Please pray for peace and respect the law.

    If the siezure is just due to a result of politics and not bcoz of stolen cows, i request the police dept to kindly get the beef cooked and distribute it among the poor who consume beef. U wil earn some blessings
