Mangaluru, Jul 4: The annual day celebration of St Peter Ward of St Anne Church, Kelarai along with retirement function of Robert Monteiro, chief of the ward, was held at the church hall on Sunday July 3. .
Presiding over the function, the parish priest Fr Joseph Mascrenhas observed that functions like these help in improving the relationship of the members of the ward.
He expressed profound appreciation for the service rendered by the retiring ward chief. The chief guest Elias Fernandes of Four Winds Mass Communications expressed his best wishes.
The church secretary Maxim Pinto, Sr Patricia, B. Alwin Crasta, Lilly Chandran, Pricilla Monteiro, and ward chief Robert Monteiro were present on the dais.
Children of the ward who had secured distinction in exams were felicitated and senior citizens who are above 80 years were honoured. Entertainment programme was performed with the involvement of sections of people of the ward.
Ward representatives Lynette Crasta and Daniel Vas were the programme anchors.
