Mangalore: 40th Tulu Movie Kanchilda Baale to Release on Mar 25

Mangalore, Mar 22: ‘Kanchilda Baale’ tulu movie will be released on Friday March 25 at Mayura - Puttur, Prabhath - Mangalore and Kalpana - Udupi at a time, informed director and producer Kumbra Raghunath Rai, (Kalabhairava Creations) at a press conference held here on Tuesday March 22.
Muthappa Rai, founder of Jayakarnataka union and Shakunthala Shetty - former MLA Puttur are among the players of lead role in the movie. The movie highlights the son-in-law custom followed in Tulunadu and also about Kambala-the traditional sports of the soil. Pradeepchandra, Manasi D S, Sudhirraj Kateel, Ravi Hosur and Harini Karkala have acted in the movie.
Comedy actor Navin D Padil, Sai Krishna, Aravind Bolar and D N Bolar are playing a role in the movie. Charithra Hedge from Udupi has acted as ‘Kanchilda Baale’. The speciality of the movie is that this is the 40th Tulu film as Tulu film industry too has completed 40 years. Shooting spots of the movie are Barkur, Vandaru Mane, Manipal, Badadi, Surala Aramane and in the vicinity of Udupi. P L Ravi is the cameraman. Top Star Renu has given the music. Story and screenplay is provided by Krishnappa Uppoor.
Raghunath Rai-Kumbra, producer and director of movie is old student of Puttur St Philomena’s College.
His first movie’ Maari Bale’ received national level gold medal. He also produced a movie in Kannada. The producer has requested everyone to watch the movie and encourage him.
A formal inaugural function to mark the release of the movie will be held at Prabhath talkies, Mangalore on Friday March 25. K Amarnath Shetty, former minister will preside. B Nagaraj Shetty and Kumarswamy, state president of Jayakarnataka will light the lamp. Sara Govindu, and MLA Yogish Bhat will do the formal inauguration.
MP Nalin Kumar Katil, Former MLA Shakuntala Shetty, K Suresh Ballal, A J Shetty, Rakesh Malli, Shivaswaj, Dr Richard Castelino, Devanand Shetty, Shivadwaj, Shreekanth Shetty, Moideen Bava and Chandrahas Rai will be the chief guest.
