Small Christian Community of Jerimeri Parish Celebrates Silver Jubilee

Mumbai, Mar 22: The silver jubilee celebration of Small Christian Community (SCC) at St Jude parish, Jerimeri, here was held, recently.

Mumbai Archbishop Bosco Penha presided over the Thanksgiving Holy Mass held at St Jude parish open ground. The five wards of Jerimeri parish organized variety cultural programmes after the Holy Mass.



Jerimeri parish priest Fr Theo Fernandes felicitated Archbishop Bosco Penha, John Mascarenhas felicitated SCC founder Fr Alwyn D’Silva and Walter D’Souza Kalmady felicitated Fr Theo Fernandes by draping the shawl and presenting flowers and fruits.

Jerimeri assistant parish priest Fr Stephen Maria congratulated the organizers of programme – Walter D’Souza, John Mascarenhas, Anthony Chettiyar, Flora D’Souza, Joseph D’Souza, Mamatha Chettiyar, Jovila D’Souza, Lawrence D’Souza, Sr Seema and Sr Anitha among others.

The hundreds of parishioners and several priests, religious nuns were present.

SCC is functioning in Jerimeri parish since the past 25 years, which was started by Fr Alwyn D’Silva. It was the first parish in the archdiocese of Mumbai to begin a SCC unit and set a role model for other parishes. The SCC in Jerimeri parish is actively involved in promoting brotherhood and helping the members in their spiritual and material needs.
