Mangaluru, Jul 6: Sunil Fernandes, a resident of Thottam here who was suffering from oral cancer and undergoing regular surgeries and chemotherapy breathed his last on Wednesday, July 6 at his residence.
Daijiworld had published an appeal seeking financial help for specialized treatment of Sunil and the readers had contributed Rs 13 lac altogether so far in a gesture of kindness. But unfortunately, the treatment could not save Sunil.
Sunil Fernandes had many dreams for his family. He wanted to provide a good education to his daughters studying in primary school. He was determined to make his dreams a reality through hard work. Unfortunately, luck was not in his favor. In the month of November last year, one morning, he suddenly felt weak and experienced problems while breathing. After a specialized medical check-up, he was diagnosed with oral cancer. Later, he was compelled to undergo regular surgeries and chemotherapy.

Sunil is survived by his wife and daughters who are studying in primary school.
