Udupi, Jul 9: Police arrested one more accused in the murder case of Vishala Ganiga.
The arrested accused is a contract killer, Rohith Rana Prathap Nishad alias Sonu (21) from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The accused is basically from Mumbai but was absconding after the murder.
His parents had filed a missing complaint at Gramdevi police station in Mumbai. Kota, Brahmavar and Hiriyadka police officers had visited Maharashtra, Goa, and Uttar Pradesh.
Vishala and Ramakrishna Ganiga
Vishala was murdered at Milan residency, Kumragodu, Brahmavar on July 12, 2021. After the murder, the accused was hiding in Maharaj Ganj, Nepal.
The judicial process is in progress to obtain the accused for police custody.
After murdering Vishala at her flat, her mangalasutra and gold bangles were stolen. Ramakrishna Ganiga, Vishala’s husband had plotted the murder of his wife while staying abroad. Police have already arrested Ramakrishna Ganiga and Swaminath Nishada and recovered the stole ornaments. For the last one year, the accused are lodged in Hiriadka Jail. Police have submitted the charge sheet to the court.
The accused was nabbed under the guidance of superintendent of police N Vishnuvardhan special Investigation team consisting of officer Brahmavar circle inspector Ananthapadmanabha and Brahmavar police sub-inspector Gurnath Haadimani, staff Venkatrama Devadiga, Raghavendra and Praveeen Shettigar.
