Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 10: Bakrid was celebrated throughout the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Sunday, July 10 with fervour and gaiety by the Muslim brethren.

Even heavy rains did not dampen the spirit of the celebrants observing Eid al-Adha.

Devotees gathered in large numbers and offered prayers In Bavuta Gudda mosque.

Special Namaz was offered on the morning in various mosques by Muslim brethren and greetings were exchanged.

The Namaz was led by Maulana Abdul Rashid Nadvi at Jamia Masjid, Maulana Inaythullah Razvi at the Anjuman masjid, Khateeb Hafeel Ashraf Sakafti at Muloor Juma masjid, Maulana Mufti Saddam at Kundapur Juma Masjid, Maulana Zahir Ahmed Alkasmi at Jamia Masjid in Karkala, Maulana Ahmed Sharif Saadi at Banglegudde masjid.

Hundreds of devotees participated in the namaz that was offered at various mosques of Byndoor, Brahmavar, Hebri, Karkala and Kaup.
Eid was celebrated with a message on peace and communal harmony at Hashimi masjid at Nairkere of Brahmagiri. In is Eid message, Maulana Syed Hussain said that the Muslims should not rely on social media and believe whatever is posted. "Instead we must indulge in positive and creative activities in the society so that peace and communal harmony is maintained," he added.

Many women were also part of the Bakrid Namaz.

    Dear Mr Aithappa. Law is valid only for 3days from eid, after that it is allowed. And buffalos wil be sacrificed after 3days. Nobody is effected by the law. Meanwhile, animal slaughter is going on for exports even today. Perhaps the law is just to fool my dear bhakths for a moments happiness. Eid Mubarak.
