Schools, colleges in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi to reopen after rain break on Jul 12

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 11: Dakshina Kannada (DK) deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra and Udupi DC Kurma Rao M issued orders for all the educational institutions to reopen from July 12.

The district administration of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have issued an orange alert from July 12 due to a decrease in the rainfall in the coastal districts.

In separate orders given by DCs of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, it has been announced that schools and anganwadi centres will function normally on Tuesday, July 12 in both the districts.

DC Dr Rajendra said suitable action will be taken if there are any problems that persist.

It may be recalled, holidays were declared from July 5 till July 9 as heavy rains lashed the twin districts. All the private and government schools, colleges and degree colleges had remained closed.
