Bantwal: DC Visits Garbage Processing Unit

Bantwal, Mar 25: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC), Subodh Yadav, visited the garbage processing unit of the local municipality, which is under construction at Kanchinadka Padav within Sajipanadu gram panchayat, and inspected the progress.

During his visit, several locals complained about the incontinences they have to suffer because of this unit. They said that the area is thickly populated and that disposal of garbage here will create environmental pollution. The DC consulted the local people and officials about the pros and cons of housing the unit here. The DC also visited Kanchinadka Padavu government lower primary school and Ira government school, and got feedback from the teachers, children, and their parents.

He later said that he will get all the necessary information and feedback from the officials before taking a final decision. Local tahsildar, Ravichandra Nayak, municipal chief officer, R V Jattanna, and several other officials accompanied the DC.
